Outreach

Outreach is a huge part of Samuel Church.

Here are just a few of the events you’ll see here:

Adult Education Opportunities

Led by pastoral staff, this is a chance for adults to learn and grow throughout the year.  We have disscussions every other week on the issues of Race and Justice.

Annual Church Picnic

Our picnic day always starts with worship on the parking lot before we dive into a potluck meal and games around Pentecost.

Boy Scout Troop 493

Samuel sponsors a boy scout troop who rakes our leaves each fall and Eagle Scout Candidates often create things for the church and preschool.

Children and Youth

Our vibrant and active children and youth ministry often reach out to the wider community through fellowship events, service projects, and missions trips.

St. Patrick’s Day Auction

In conjunction with Kern Meat Co, this fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity takes place in March. Since 2020, we have moved from serving a meal to having an online auction - with items generously donated by members and friends of the congregation.

Outside Groups

Various 12 step groups meet at Samuel throughout the week.  These are Alcoholics Anonymous, Codependents Anon (CODA), Debtors Anon (DA), Overeaters Anon (OA), and Survivors of Incest (SIA). These groups are not affiliated with Samuel but use our building. Brain Buddies - a support group for folks who have suffered from brain injury and thier families also meets here.
